Luke Willis Thompson (Kai Beqa, Fiji) (b.1988 in Auckland, Aotearoa/New Zealand) graduated with a Master in Fine Arts, Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland in 2010 and was awarded a Meisterschüler from Städelschule, Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Frankfurt am Main in 2015.Thompson was the recipient of the 2018 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize, UK/DE, and the 2014 Walters Prize, NZ. In 2018, Thompson was a nominee for The Turner Prize, UK.

Recent solo exhibitions include: adjancency, Galerie Nagel Draxler, Berlin (2019); Hysterical Strength, GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo (2019); _Human, Kunsthalle Basel (2018); Luke Willis Thompson, Adam Art Gallery, Victoria University of Wellington (2018).

 

Ruth Buchanan is an artist from Aotearoa New Zealand who lives in Berlin. She works across exhibition making, writing, design, publishing, and teaching. Recent and ongoing projects include Heute nacht geträumt, Kunstmuseum Basel | Gegenwart; The scene in which I find myself / Or, where does my body belong, Govett - Brewster Art Gallery, Ngāmotu New Plymouth; Uneven Bodies (Reader) exploring collection politics; and www.evacuationtapes.net, an online publication departing form the work of poet J. C. Sturm.
